The scientific and theoretical journal Vestnik Sibirskogo Gosudarstvennogo Universiteta Put'y Soobshcheniya (Bulletin of Siberian State University of Transport) continues the tradition of publishing the results of scientific research in the field of transport development, established by the periodical Trudy Novosibirskogo Instituta Inzhenerov Transporta (Proceedings of the Novosibirsk Institute of Transport Engineers). The name of the educational institution changed, as did the country, the goals and objectives facing transport, and the conditions of its operation. There have been different periods in the life of domestic transport science. As a rule, scientific research focused on solving practical transport problems, primarily railway transport, was in high demand. The need for rapid implementation of transport science achievements required a wide range of scientists and specialists to be familiar with them. These tasks were successfully solved by scientific-practical and scientific-theoretical journals published by scientific and scientific-educational institutes. One of the most important and sought-after publications of this kind has always been the journal Vestnik SGUPS, which has been published for over 20 years. Currently, the journal is included in the List of Peer-Reviewed Scientific Publications, in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of candidate of sciences and doctor of sciences in the scientific specialties 2.9 “Transport” and 2.1 “Construction and Architecture” must be published.
